Sparking Conversation

We had another lovely meeting tonight. Our sessions aren’t work based at all, they are just a good opportunity for us to get together, make new friends and share what we’ve written.

The sharing has come as quite a surprise to me since I believed that journal writers were solitary souls who wrote in complete isolation. Well, I couldn’t have been more mistaken because we’re all thoroughly enjoying each other’s stories. The readings tonight have certainly sparked off some very interesting conversations.

Freda started the ball rolling with her journal entry which she’d written in French!! Thank you to Sue and Cathy for your beautiful readings of this, and to you Freda for such a unique and fab approach to your journaling (and for the English translation, haha).

Sue then read out the lovely description of her walk down to, and then right in to the sea! This led us onto a conversation about Virginia Wolf, her life and her novels.

We then moved away from all the culture and shared lovely stories about our beloved pets – some of whom were able to join us on Zoom.

All in all, it’s been a wonderfully varied, enriching and heart-warming evening.

Really looking forward to seeing you all again next week my friends.
